if it uses a normal MIDI connection and can send normal MIDI CC
messages, it can be used with Ardour.
additionally, if it can send Mackie Command Protocol messages, then
you can get "deeper" control in Ardour, though our MCP support is
still mostly untested/unused because few people have the hardware
needed to evaluate it thoroughly.
