Hi all!!
It's the first time I post here, and I do it because I've a strange
problem... I can use timidity, but not playmidi...
$ playmidi /usr/share/doc/playmidi/examples/jazz.

I've problem with /dev/sequencer....

I found for some reason with Planet CCRMA's current release the alsa
sequencer on my system is broken, it could be a problem with a buggy,
older version of alsa

But midi playback and recording works just fine on PD, I need to get on
the Planet CCRMA list to start doing some bug reporting.

the locking problems Paul Davis reported for smp machines on newer alsa
cvs versions...]

Hi,
FYI, I was experiencing the smp locking in a big way
during the last several weeks. My machine would lock
at every attempt to start jackd. I CVS upgraded about
24 hours ago and the problem is gone. Actually I
rebuilt my entire audio environment. So, I don't know
why my box is working again. Perhaps it's related to
alsa.
