Can it be done? I mean, chain "preamp plugin + EQ plugin + speaker
plugin" into a single plug-in preset that can be loaded later. Is LASH
the way to go?

ecasound has an effects preset system for just that:

Well, lash and jack-rack is the way to go. Or just jack-rack and the
"Save"/"Open" functions...
