Hello,
Is it possible to move tracks up or down in the editor ? Ardour
2.8.12. It is possible to make them thinner or thicker by using the
small handle on the left corner, but is it possible to move them ? I
have tried a few mouse button combinations to no avail. I would use
that for instance, to move down a set of tracks considered as a sketch
while I keep the upper part of the editor for new tracks to be recorded.

You can click-drag the tracks up and down in the window on the right,
if you choose the tab labelled tracks :)

Use the editor list on the right of the editor window, under the
Tracks/Busses tab, you can drag & drop tracks around and arrange them
in any order. There is also an option under View for syncing editor &
mixer tracks

tracks are moved in the editor, they are also moved in the mixer window
eg. the operation seems to take in these two places at the same time.

New tracks are added under the Session menu (Add Track/Bus) or by
right clicking in the left most area under existing track headers.
