get the audio to play via the IDE cables and not the old reliable direct
connection from CDROM to sound card? FWIW I have the output plugin in xmms
set to the OSS driver, which snd-pcm-oss seems to pick up just fine.
Are there any ALSA cd players that can handle this?
IIRC, you can do that with AlsaPlayer.
and I think there's an XMMS plugin to do the same thing. not sure.
Ok. I get it. The cdda2wav trick (from another post) worked. I'll look
into the xmms plugin, but it looks like I may hafta write my own CD
player. If i had the time...
