This one is from the end of 2008; it is an outtake from a "Me And My Cronies"
CD.
It heavily features PHASEX in the beginning and middle, and AMS towards the end.
It is highly experimental noisy dissonant electronic jazz.

Jeeebus.... what were we thinking?
This might be a good track to clear out a party at the end of the night, when you really
wish everyone would go home.
I made it to about 3 minutes in, then I just couldn't take it anymore.

Hi Ken!
Hm, Ican't say, I dislike it. It's a little strange, but I've heard much
worse for the ears. Somehow, this is still rather pleasant. I had the mad
image of a few painters sitting in their studio after work, having a drink or
five and listening to this. :-) I an't say, if this is a praise for painters
or an insult. :-) It's almost prog or fusion in my ears. It won't be something
I can listen to everyday, but certainly something for the right time, which
happens more often than one can imagine. :-)

Glad you enjoyed it! Please note I just uplodaed a final mix that I found (in a different
directory, *sigh*), made a few weeks later, which is MUCH improved, so please download the
new version and discard the old.
Interesting that you say it reminded you of painters. The bass player in that band was
Florian Simon, an accomplished fine artist from Nuremberg:

I'm not sure whether I ever heard anything of yours before, but this
just blew me away. This is Miles-Electric'ish with a modern twist.
Fourteen minutes of guys kicking back and seriously jersking off: I
love it! If you have any more like this one, please share them. My only
complaint is that the mix is kind of opaque and really doesn't do it
justice.
I'll be keeping this track around.

IIRC that was unmastered. I don't remember if I decided to drop the noisy/dissonant
stuff off of the CD before or after the final mix. So that may be a scratch mix still; I
don't remember.
The drummer probably still has the original PT project; I suppose I could go get it,
import it into Ardour, and do another mix of it.

We were very proud of our freakish-experimental-jazz Radiohead covers too, which IIRC are
still up on the band's old MySpace page (try and guess what the band's name is a
reference to).
Great fun that band was. I don't think we ever made a single penny.

I Like it, Ken, mostly because I also like to mess around and jam and
experiment a lot with others, even I'm prone to improvise myself and build
let's say "songs" with some apps, FX and instruments on the go.
Would love to know the patches you used.
And, BTW, I suppose it was recorded in a rehearsal space but it sounds good
and it seems you have separated tracks and then mixed it. Do you have
microphones installed on your rehearsal? Maybe some Zoom H4 or alike?
