Hey,
I want to install songwrite2 on 64studio.
But I get these errors when I want to start songwrite2
ChildError: Errors from command 'songwrite2':
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/songwrite2", line 24, in ?
import songwrite2.globdef
File "/usr/share/songwrite2/globdef.py", line 40, in ?
translator = gettext.translation("songwrite2", LOCALEDIR,

Hey,
I like to know alternatives for Finale songwriter on Linux
(https://www.finalemusic.com/songwriter/) .
I'm looking for a program for writing songs which can handle tablature (guitar/ bass),
notes, midi and realtime playback.

New subject: Linux alternatives Finale songwriter
I tried the Sibelius G7 Demo. When I write tabs in G7, the notes will be automatically
displayed in a note-bar under the TAB bar. That's what I really like and I think it
would be great if there was a Linux program which could do that!
I found also Tuxguitar. But I'm not able to install the 'alsa-plugin' on the
right way. Can somebody help me with that? The site doesn' load...

As a windows refugee, the best of the tablature-enabled programs was tabledit
(I bought it) and also shows score this way. Runs fine with Wine. Finale
might also run in Wine, I've heard say.

That's right. I've tried it and it works on 64studio (Debian stable) with the
latest wine version.
What about Sibelius (G7) running with wine? any experiences?
