I don't know if this is relevant, but I have
with a Raspberry Pi with
a USB WiFi adapter and a cheapy Behringer UCA222 USB audio interface
(which gets all its power via the USB connection). Both USB devices
work independently with the Pi but require a powered hub when used
together. This is my Squeezebox/spotify home stereo!

at least for ADAT usage this shouldn't matter.
Actually the cause that an iPad can't connect to the PreSonus by USB,
seems to be an USB current limit controlled by software [1]. A
workaround already should be, to connect an unpowered USB hub. To cause
less load for the battery, I will order a powered USB hub.

You could always use DI boxes with a ground lift between the audio
output and your monitors or mixing desk.
