Hi Julian,
Well at least you liked the synthesized speech. Well, I'm not sure if
it's just that I used synthesized speech or what I did to it?
I used Festival and would have liked to delve further into tweaking
voices and the like (or even used a different voice) but time being
limited I used just the default (male) voice that is installed with
festival.
Compared with some music I've heard, I'd say the monotony of this
track is fairly low down on the scale - and besides, try performing
the same task which lasts between 50 - 120 seconds for 7 1/2 hours a
day ;-)

Hi James!
Yes you're right, I've heard more monotonous. I suppose I'm not the right
person to really judge this, since I'm mostly into baroque and prog and a bit
of mainstream pop. Mind you some of that can be _VERY_ dull. :-)
I liked both the synth and the way you worked with it. Did you just cut it
off? Did you use a lot of effects on the voice? I'm not too familiar with the
festival voices, although I've tried them, just for fun.

Btw, my advice: Quit your job, do music full-time. ;)
I once seriously advised a friend that if he was going to be miserable
and broke working a job he hated, he might as well go into music full
time. Then at least he might be broke and miserable but he'd love his work.
