Hey,
I want to play with a backing track and record both with ardour.
How should I do that? And which mediaplayer should I use? I cannot access
totem or audacious to jack.

xmms has jack plugins, Ubuntu 7.10:

Import the backing track into ardour, then let ardour play the one track while
you record to the other.
