Hi All,
A new build of Praxis LIVE makes its way into the light. Highlights
include new audio components and audio API improvements,
cross-platform video capture (yes, Linux has always been there!), and
live GLSL coding.

Praxis is a Java-based modular framework for live creative play with
video, images, audio, and other media. Its primary focus is on the
easy development of generative and interactive media installations, as
well as live performance. Praxis LIVE is a graphical, patcher-style
interface for developing Praxis projects 'on the fly'. Praxis is
developed by UK Artist and Technologist Neil C Smith. It is partly
inspired by projects such as AudioMulch, Bidule and Isadora, and to a
lesser extent Pure Data and Processing; however, it is not intended to
be a clone of any of them.

This is the first time I tried this out. Looked at several examples. Very
interesting!

I checked it out a while ago, but didn't go far, other committments kept
me from working with it. The recent improvements are attractive, I'll
probably dive in a little more deeply this time.

Well, me! :-)
This is the first time I've announced on the LAU list, though have
mentioned it once on LAD, so I'm not sure if anyone else here has made
much use of it yet. Still, all feedback and feature requests
gratefully received (if no guarantee they'll be acted upon! :-) ).
There will be a manual soon too!

Praxis is particularly aimed at developing interactive audio-visual
stuff, though obviously perfectly usable for just audio. The work
that kicked it all off is documented here

Hey Neil!
I especially liked the Radio project. Very nice concept!
Will explore Praxis and ask question if there will be any. So far I like it
and love the fact that it works with JACK.
