Given somebody's using two soundcards with stereo input. Can she
enable JACK in any way so simultaneous recording from the four
channels is posible?
Any ideas welcome.

Not possible with consumer cards.

I suspect that their utility assumes the cards are synced at the hardware level.

consumer-type soundcards as
occasional-use JACK inputs or outputs; it isn't appropriate for multiple
large I/O clock-synchronised cards, for which a specialised ALSA multi-card
device still has to be set up...
So it may or may not be what the original poster wanted. Just thought I'd

You can use the alsa_in client (was that the name?) from the netjack
package to connect to the card that isn't driving jackd.
