Hello all,
I have what might seem like a silly question, but I really want to go
to
LAC this year (every LAC is such a blast and really brings me tons of
creative energy).
In the past couple of years, I have found out I have celiac disease,
meaning I can't eat any gluten at all, or risk major health problems.
So, my question is: are there any gluten-free kitchens in Lyon? And
also, does anyone here have any other ideas when it comes to
traveling
to places that don't have gluten free kitchens what kinds of things I
can do to make sure I eat well? When it comes to traveling within my
country, I can pack a cooler and take prepped meals, but when it
comes
to international travel, I don't have any idea what to do, and I
don't
come from a family who traveled a lot.
Thank you all for your suggestions,
Brandon Hale
Having lived in the EU and not too far from Lyon most of my life:
There's plenty of celiacs around - I'm going to confidently claim that
there *are* gluten-free options. Both in (normal or specialised)
restaurants and in food stores.
Definitely in urban areas.
You should check out if the convention itself offers gluten-free food;
I'm 100% sure you're not the only one, but it might be good to tell
them in advance.
