Hello,
Quick question: can I use deb packages of custom kernels built on my
main desktop machine on my laptop? Both machines are Intel-based
machines, but my laptop is much slower, and building a kernel will
take much, much longer.

Sure, why not. Same concept as cross-compiling.
Select the kernel options with your laptop capabilites in mind and
build the kernel on the Debian desktop. Then get the packages to
your laptop and install with Debian on the laptop.
