My guess is JACK probably *does* meet their notability standards, but
the article would need to contain references to outside web sites
mentioning JACK. Perhaps something like the open source award given
to Paul a few years back...

Agreed, it's not the ideal article. References to sources regarding
Linux audio in general that address JACK might help, if they want
sources not directly related to the topic. Anyone feel like citing the
Linux music and sound book? I don't own it myself.

I do. There's no mention of JACK. :(
But Daniel James describes and uses it in his book Crafting Digital
Media, that should make a good citation.

Wouldn't your articles in LJ about jack constitute a reliable secondary
source?

i just found out :) every signed-in user can start categories. nice. now
the page should be in better shape.

There is already a Wikipedia entry, "Paul Davis (programmer)". The
JACK article should link to that.
