Hi,
it has been reported that the 2.6.8 kernel has fixed the handling of
USB resets, so now it's possible to use a Linux firmware loader to get
these devices to work.
You can get the loader at <http://usb-midi-fw.sf.net/>.

Does this have anything at all to do with hotplug-20040920?

This new hotplug caused all of my USB to stop working. I went back to
the old one. Later I was told that I needed something new called coldplug.
