Hi all!!!
I have this hardware:
Roland E30 keyboard
Creative PCI 128
Jackd
Monitors left and right
1) I want to play on the keyboad and record the midi events to rosegarden.
2) I want to play rosegarden through PCI 128 that make the Roland speaker play my midi.
Is it possible? I have jackd up and running.

Use qjackctl so you can connect your midi device to Rosegarden. And if
you want to hear it you can do several ways:
- use Zynaddsubfx (a soft-synth) connected to the midi out of the
keyboard via the qjackctl panel
- use some other soft-synth
- use a soundfont player, I can't recall the name of the one I use.
The first method is my favorite. Zyn is a great synth.

I don't know but it seems that no signals arrive to the ES1371 -Rawmidi 0
is there any tool to understand if thew PCI128 is receiving any midi signals?

amidi --dump
cat /proc/asound/card0/midi0
and each received byte should increase the number of interrupts in
/proc/interrupts.

P.s. Zynaddsubfx is really great!!
Try the presets from the current CVS of zyn,
there are really great sounds in
there!
You should also check the Alsa Modular Synth ;-)

if tou run in a terminal "aconnect -iol"
you see your midi priferial as a midi client ?
you see rosengardens in/out as a midi client ?
2)
if you run in a terminal "jack_lsp -c"
you see the in/out audio of rosengarden (beyond to the alsa_pcm)?
