Dear Patrick.
AMX is complete controlller package.
It's terribly complex.
to keep you updated on this a bit here goes.
ivie ( i had spelled it wrong ) is also in on this.
the project is to control a system that's in the suites in the
new jacksonville arena.they have extron switcher, ivie mixer
television set controls vcr and dvd controls.
Unfortunately.. extron has a system .. ivie has a system and all this
will result in a very complex code to have all those working.
the delay being really short ( wednesday it's got to be online )
im kind of really nervous since the equipment is not even plugged in
so i can test the installation before it's being brought online :))
talk about pressure 8)

I have a small assignment that just landed on my
lap.
Get an ivey mixer to be controlled via AMX.
Any help setting this up will be most welcomed ..
That is.. if anyone here ever did this :)
The info I found on AMX is that it is a control interface (LED) so it
probably requires a way of writing data in the correct way and sending
it to the midi port.
Is this correct?
If so it may understand the mmc/mmx protocol. In that case ardour has
basic support for these.
If it is a completely different language then you should ask on LAD
where their are more technicallly dexterous people reading.

Being on stage with the band in front of crowds shouting, "Get off! No!
We want normal music!", I think that was more like acting than anything
I've ever done.
