Hi folks,
I try to find out if there is a way to split my midi input from a Piano
to record the left and the right hand seperatly in one shot.
My goal is to prepair notesheets for piano.
any ideas ?

search for qmidiroute of Matthias Nagorny.
BTW: The split point when playing piano is not static, so I
doubt that you can easily split LH and RH at a certain key.

Well, obviously it depends completely on the piece of music.
But maybe - depending on the number of keys on your keyboard, and the
range by which your two hands overlap during the piece - you could just
play the parts an octave or two apart, split them about a static point,
and then transpose the notes once in MIDI.
This is obviously still no good for pieces where you cross your hands
over, like Winifred Atwell's "Cross Hands Boogie".
Or just play one hand at a time.

Or get a second keyboard to play both hands full-range each on their
own keyboard and their own midi-channel ;-)
Advantage: No need for additional tools to split the midi-signal...

just record with rosegarden and then split the midi track :)
