I don't think Penderecki cares. Even less since he picked up conducting... There is also Gorecki, who reached stardom in the 90's with his minimalist Symphony no.3 (composed some 10 years prior). But I think he's confined to instrumental writing and copying scores by hand. However, there are some interesting things happening in the Polish "underground". I don't follow it too much but could dig up some links if anyone's interested. Otherwise, 99% of Poles dance (those who can, anyways) to Disco Polo which definitely isn't a sign of classy and refined tastes. I'm not so proud of that side of things... So, as pointed out above, from the Penderecki and friends perspective it's pale (nice choice of words, btw :) ), from the disco polo perspective it's probably too artsy. Go figure. I think there is a real need for a web site devoted to (links to?) music written with Linux. It would be good to see what people are using in the way of software, and how the finished product sounds.. Obviously streaming content would be nice but links to iuma or mp3.com sites would be fine. In a related thought, I've wondered for a while where all of the Linux servers supporting most of the individually developed web pages, not the SourceForge stuff are. Are people paying for server space for these sites? My cable modem ISP won't let me run a web server out of my house. I ask in the spirit that if I was willing to run a site like your suggesting, how do I do it on the cheap? The problem with streaming mp3s is using up lots of bandwidth pretty quickly and getting turned off on the $7.95/month type servers. Cheers, Mark

I use it too. There is a couple of tools to update the ip (useful when you get it changed from a dhcp).
