Hi,
this is a somewhat offtopic question, but since everyone else is running
around with those cool mp3-gadets, does anyone know if the usually
available mp3-players can handle .ogg files? Or are there some devices
that can do so?

many of the non-Apple players will play ogg. the only ones i am sure play both ogg and
FLAC are those from Cowon/iAudio/JetAudio. other players that dont support ogg/FLAC
natively might be able to do so with the rockbox firmware..

Lots of newish devices support ogg either out of the box or with a
firmware upgrade. Try the XiphWiki, specifically
http://wiki.xiph.org/PortablePlayers or its parent
http://wiki.xiph.org/VorbisHardware.

You should also check out RockBox, a free software firmware replacement
that supports FLAC, Ogg Vorbis et al.

Some models of MPIO flash-based players support Ogg. I know my FY-600 does.
