Laborejo, Esperanto for "Workshop", is used to craft music through notation.
It is a Lilypond GUI frontend, a MIDI creator and finally a tool collection to inspire and
help you compose.
It works by reducing music-redundancy and by seperating layout and data. Don't worry
about the layout, just concentrate on the music.

There are too many features to mention them all and too many missing features and bugs to
warn you. Most important known problems:
* This is Alpha Grade Software. Don't use for long-term work. However, the produced
midis and PDFs will last forever.
* Performance can get bad very quickly if you use Containers.
* There is no built-in sophisticated midi player/jack midi output yet. You have to export
midi files.
* Documentation is nearly non-existent.

I am terribly, sorry. I forgot the quick instructions:
Linux Instructions: Unpack, cd into the created directoy, execute:
./laborejo-qt.sh
Then use the number- and cursor keys for immediate success!
Check Help->Manual for navigational and note/rest entry keys. Everything else is in the
menus.

You have to build pysmf yourself, if you want to export midi. Don't forget to build it
with python3, not python.

Compare to frescobaldi, also python, uses lilypond format files directly and
is not really a notation program in and of itself.
Compare to denemo which claims to be.
Main problem with this is that is requires python3 which is not yet quite
complete. For example, I have been able to install eric5. Building pysmf works
for python2.7 but not for python3

I am sorry, I did not understand this part. Did you want to compare it or was that a
request for me, that I shall compare it?
Main problem with this is that is requires python3 which is not yet quite

This is not a problem at all, let alone the "main" problem. If it was I had
included it in my problem list.
Look at the version number, it is 0.1. Giving the process of single-dev open source audio
software, when do you think it will reach 1.0?
Maybe by a time where Python3 and the other dependencies are common. Notice you also need
Lilypond 2.15, which is a git version.
I plan to use Laborejo for decades in my professional career, thats why I even started it.
I want it to be the top program not now but in years. Suddenly Python3 looks like good
timing.

I seriously encourage people to try thisone out! for me it's the only
notation editor that hasn't immediatly made me grunting and blaspheming.
