Hi everyone,
I am trying to configure a card "echo Audiofire 4 " and I'm having some
troubles
When I start ffado-dbus-server says that it works correctly, but gives no extra
information about how its working.
When I start qjackctl with firewire settings and I look for connections, are
not audio outputs, it only shows me audio inputs[1].
When I try to start mplayer with jack support it give me a connection error
with Jack.
I leave the qjackctl settings [2]

Hi!
I think your using Jack2, (aka jackdmp ).. (the "dev0_unknownX" portname
gives it away)
Although I have an AudioFire 12 and 2 working with it now I do recall having
a similar problem with nothing connecting to the output ports with older
versions of Jack2...
Perhaps there is a newer version available in your software channel (
apt-get, yum, whichever :-)
As a side note, the "Writeable client / Input Ports" pane on the right of
your screenshot [1] are the outputs.
They're labelled as "input ports" because the audio programs write data to
the port, so its kinda an input in a way... :-)

The software channel in Mandriva is urpmi =) but i have installed de last
version avaliable 1.9.5. Now Im trying to compile and install 1.9.5

The the extrange thing is that in alsa, the master output has a speaker
picture...
The problem is that jack doesn't leave me connect any progrma with the
audiofire output.
When I work with alsa and the internal sound card, all is working well.

The throuble was solved with the compilation of jack 1.9.6 (was a litle hell
resolv denpendencies).

I don't think the that svn should be nessisary.. perhaps the error lies
somewhere else...

Keep in mind that ALSA has nothing to do with your AudioFire. FFADO (the
firewire device driver) is the communication between JACK and your
AudioFire.
With your internal sound card ALSA is the communication between JACK and
your (internal) soundcard. ALSA does not support the AudioFire (or any
Firewire device).
I think Jack2 has released Jack 1.9.6 for a long time... 1.9.5 is quite
old.. Maybe do upgrade to 1.9.6!
