Wow, this libRubberBand gives amazing quality. Nice player, but Anything
over ~80% volume gives distortion? It's a pity libSndFile doesn't support
MP3 either :(

Yes, Chris did a great job!
The fader maps from -Inf to +5 dB. 85% is 0 dB (unity gain).

Having 0 dB at 85% is something I see common in the
industry (e.g. alsa, mixer consoles)... so I chose that
mapping.

Don't you think it would feel more natural to map 100% to unity gain

It's just a matter of seconds to convert a file to wav. And
considering that you'd use this tool for one song at a time, that's
not a big deal.
