Hello the list
To start 2011 i decided to upgrade from 8.04 to 10.04. And now i have a
lot of xruns even i'm using the same setup as before.
I tried under fluxbox, only ario + mpd, still xruns.
- My kernel is 2.6.31-11-rt
- My jack setup is : /usr/bin/jackd -v -P89 -dalsa -dhw:0 -r44100 -p1024
-n2 -m -H
and i already got a high latency (around 50 ms)
- My soundcard is a m-audio delta series (a pci card)
I normally setup the limit.conf good (in fact i changed nothing)
Anybody got a clue or an idea about how to solve this annoying
situation.

Be sure to check it again as upgrades do sometimes reset the
values
automatically...

I'd suggest to try a better performing real-time kernel. Especially on
notebooks/netbooks the Ubuntu -rt kernel of 10.04 performs poorly. I can
recommend the real-time kernels from Tango Studio:

Try lowering JACK's prio to around 70. 89 is too high, this means JACK's
watchdog thread runs prio 99 and that way it might get in the way of
other processes. And could you also post the contents of your
/etc/security/limits.d/audio.conf file?

Your right, i've got two files now, /etc/security/limits.d/audio.conf
and /etc/security/limits.conf should i delete the former one ?
Here's the new one :
# generated by jackd's postinst.

# Do not edit this file by hand, use

# dpkg-reconfigure -p high jackd

# instead.
@audio - rtprio 99
@audio - memlock unlimited
#@audio - nice -19
I also changed the priority to 70 in jack setup. Let's see the result.
I've also notice that after an upgrade trackerd load the CPU to 100 % so
i killed it.
What do you think about it ?

None of the above. You should remove the lines beginning with @audio
from your /etc/security/limits.conf file.

sudo apt-get remove tracker tracker-search-tool tracker-utils ;)
