Is the OPL£ on a soundcard? If so you probably need to set the record
input to be "mix" or "master" or similar, and use something like
jack-rack
to process the soundcard record input.

On the other hand, the OPL3 synth is a digital FM synth and it has been
fully reverse engineered to the bit, so 100% accurate software emulation
is possible and exists. Opensource implementations could be used and
adapted to be run as jack/alsa clients. These can be taken from MAME,
DosBOX or DosEMU, for example.

It's a slight sledgehammer to crack a nut, but I find Ardour works well as a
LADSPA host. You could use ecasound in a similar way. there is also
JACK-rack.
