Hello!
Do you guys know of any stutter-plugin for Linux? Stuttering is pretty easy
to do by just trimming the regions but it takes an awful lot of time, so a
plugin would be of real ease! Is this anything that's availible?

Afaik Ardour doesn't support native Linux VST's. And yes, Ardour with
VST support is for using Windows VST's. But I'm not an Ardour user so I
might be wrong.

ardour does not support linux native VSTs. there are no plans to add
support, but if someone wrote a patch for it, i'm not opposed to
merging it.

all of which seems fine for an app that wants to be a JACK control app

Renoise[1] (commercial product) supports native VST's and
jack.
Energy XT[2] (commercial product) supports native VST's. If
you go through Indamixx[3] you can get a version with Jack
support.

Thanks for the clarification, Paul. I wasn't sure if there was any
position on Ardour + native VSTs. Personally, I hope such a patch
appears, especially when I note that I have far more synthesizers in
native Linux VST format than in any other Linux audio plugin format. I
know that there are LV2 synths in the making, but right now we have a
nice assortment of Linux VST synths that could be nicely employed with
direct support in Ardour3.

but recent librdf updates seem to be crashing all of my LV2 hosts, and I
figure that it's simple enough that there's a chance it will work without

Hi Leigh,
I've gotten LV2 hosts working on my computer, so I've tested it further,
fixed it, and optimized it some. Should work perfectly (although I've
noticed that qtractor seems to do a bad job generating GUIs for enumeration
controls).
One more thing: It has a hard cutoff, which I'm not sure is desirable for
the stutter effect. Should it fade in and out very quickly to remove the
"popping" effect, or is that part of the effect?

Hey man!
Just tried it out, and it looks nice! But i can only get it to work once
every play/stop? After i play and stop ardour once the plugin needs to be
removed and added again in order for it to work.

I've fixed the syntax errors in the ttl. If you could try it again,
that would be nice.
Thanks -- it opens in Ardour now, but with the mix control at 100% I get
no sound out. I've tried it on both mono and stereo tracks. Adjusting the
mix control back gives me some of the original signal, but still no stutter.

if this is on debian, this is a known bug that was solved this
morning. i don't expect the fixes to show up for a bit. its a bug in
the packaging of libraptor, not in ardour or in LV2.

Hi Paul,
This is exactly the error I was getting, as I am on Debian. It seems to
affect anything using libslv2, since it in turn uses librdf, so that leaves
out lv2_jack_host, qtractor, lv2file, ardour, etc. Thanks for letting me
know, otherwise I probably would have spent a lot of time trying to fix it.
