for a Tom Waits "all the world is green" cover, we need a free sample of
xylophone
(no brilliant single note to feed Specimen) that seems hard to find
after 2 hours
on the web.

i find it unlikely, though it depends on precisely what you mean by "this kind"
pianoteq is a fairly sophisticated piece of physical modelling
software. stuff like this doesn't grow on trees.

programmers who wanted to hack for years without being paid and live
off what they made on stock options. its too bad, but thats the way it

Have you looked at soundfonts? There seem to be a few specific
xylophone ones about? Or any of the GM multi-instrument soundfonts -
xylophone is 14.
