This is the message that I get when I try to start jack in realtime via
the qjackctl. It just always fails. I am using the ccrma 2.6-11 kernel
and kernel source and "think" i have installed everything correctly.
After reading this jack output please continue down the email as there
is more from when I run just jackd

Hi Vaughan. Just a thought, but did you get the following 2 packages, the low
latency kernel ones.
apt-get update
apt-get install planetccrma-core
apt-get install planetccrma-core-edge
The first one comes with extra packages. "rtirq" "rtload" (for
realtime), and
a couple of Alsa packages IIRC.
These are for the single processor setup, add "-smp" without the quotes to
both packages if you are using a dual processor. Nigel.
