Scott-Heron wasn't into the politics of the personal, much. He was one
of the first to denounce the notion that to change the world, you
should focus on changing yourself. I was too young to understand what
he meant back then, but now I do. Just makes him even more of a
legend.

(Indeed, so many of his songs seem so appropriate as eulogies or epitaphs).
