Hello all,
Some updates now available at

zita-rev1-0.2.1
* Nasty bug detected and fixed by Robin Gareus (thanks !)
zita-rev1-0.2.1 and zita-at1-0.2.2
* Changed looks at bit (rotary knobs look different).
* Added -pthread to linker flags, required for the GNU gold
linker (suggested by Alessio Treglia, thanks !).
* s/kokkinizita.net/linuxaudio.org/ everywhere.

accessing structure members is exactly what png2img.cc
has been doing for at least a year now.

I used the packages as downloaded from your site.

In jkmeter (0.4.0), for example
it stopped at line 56 of mkimage.cc
png_info = png_create_info_struct (png_ptr);
with a message
as: forward declaration error for png_info type
(I connot completly reproduce, because I installed an older version
of libpng in order to compile without modifications)

It is there, in /lib
what is the filename?
if it does not end with .so then gcc (ld) won't link.
On my system, I have a file libgcc_s.so (nothing behind .so)
in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.5.2
pointing to /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1
your gcc installation is strange. You should have a gcc
directory somewhere in /usr/lib like me with libgcc_s.so
in it. Try "find -name "libgcc_s*" in /usr/lib. It shoud
report something.
As a quick and dirty fix you can do: ln -s ligcc_s.so.XXX libgcc_s.so
in /lib as root, since you have libgcc_s.so in /lib
(assuming it's ending with something in the XXX, if it ends
by .so I don't know what's going on, maybe wrong filetype,
like a 32b file on a 64b host or something? try "file libgcc_s.so"
then)

That's why I asked him to reinstall. Maybe something is unproper.
apt-get install gcc-4.5 libgcc1 --reinstall
IIRC, also the ld cache must be updated calling
ldconfig
