All,
One of the M-Audio 4x4 tweeters unfortunately got a bump in it. It
now makes a terrible sound on some frequencies. Anyone has ever
replaced one of these ? Is it possible to get a replacement from
M-Audio ?
you might try to "repair" it first - there's not much to lose.
find a cardboard tube like they are in rolls of kitchen tissue or toilet
paper, put it over the damaged tweeter, close the other end with your
mouth and then inhale. sometimes you can make the cone come out again.
if there are no fissures or really bad dents remaining, it might be as
good as before.
if it doesn't, last resort is a vacuum cleaner, but that might eat the
entire tweeter if you're not careful.
