The Formant editor window has been made a bit more user friendly.
The Command line can now use Yoshimi's Copy/Paste feature and stored presets.
There are also minor bugfixes and general updates.
Full details are in /doc/Yoshimi_2.2.3_features.txt

Seriously, though, DSSI is dead. Effort spent adding DSSI format for
plugins should be spent in adding LV2 support to host, that do not
support it yet, instead.

A number of DSSI synths will not even build any more. I think anything
that supports DSSI does so with legacy code. That is, the DSSI code was
put in when that was all there was and so long as it continues to "just
work" it will be left in. As soon as the maintainer has to do actual work
to keep it going they are looking at time to support something very few
use or to spend that time on what everyone else uses. Anyone new to plugin
synth creation is going to learn to create LV2 plugins. So supporting dssi
in a host means having a sound font synth internally or using standalone
jack clients (using either alsa or jack midi). Depending on the intended
use of the software, that may be a reasonable combination. If an audio
track is the intended outcome, maybe not. As a writing tool, to create a
score, it seems reasonable.

Cal forked Yoshimi in 2009. He 'officially' announced it on September 1st. I
can't remember where now. I did make a copy of it but have lost it somehow :(
Jeremy took over in 2011, and I did (with considerable reluctance) in 2014. I
said at the time I was just doing so until someone who knew what they were
doing took over - After nine years, I'm still waiting! Meanwhile I know I've
made some mistakes, but hope on balance I've done more good than harm.
There are several others who have helped out, and two in particular who have
put a lot of (very good) work into Yoshimi but they both have full-time jobs.
We still get very welcome bits of help on odd occasions.
Our LV2 implementation is somewhat basic. Andrew did the actual port, but it's a
long time since we've heard from him. We've patched it up a few times, but none
of us currently working on the code have a full grasp of LV2.
As for supporting DSSI and the like, I won't get directly involved, but others
are more than welcome to have a go at it. Personally I don't like the plugin
ethos at all and never use it - except for testing.
Talking of testing, I find the performance best to worst is:
Yoshimi + Rosegarden, ALSA MIDI, Jack audio.
Qtractor, slightly higher DSP load
Muse, slightly higher DSP load
Ardour, much higher DSP load

Andrew did LV2 for MusE.
I and others have patched it significantly since then with new features etc.
Without his efforts I probably would have been lost to even begin adding it.
Incredible for him to come to an unfamiliar large code base and do that.
LV2 can be difficult to understand.
A few days ago I added LV2 units (dB, Hz, ms etc.)
I found it confusing how to obtain these units from just reading the API.
I had to read a code snippet in Ardour for help!

I also use Yoshimi with Rosegarden and have used it a lot in the past, I
would suggest giving Rosegarden -> Yoshimi (via ALSA Midi) a go as it's
rather straightforward.

PS: I had also created a Rosegarden instrument file for the default
banks (and a very primitive python generator for it), but that should
get an update, not sure if anyone has actually ever used it

slow and tedious
work because the variables had all been changed.
With something
as complex as
DSSI it would probably be quicker to start from
scratch.
Bummer. I don't know the technical end of things, just thought it

be a possible start. If nothing else, a framework.
