Hello Guys, i'm new to this mailing list. I just wanted to know if
TerminatorX development is stalled. The last version is 3.82 since 2
years or so.
Or is there another Program of the sort and under development. Please
let me know, maybe i'll pick up development of TerminatorX.

Welcome !
TerminatorX hasn't been updated for several years now. But it suffers
from a big fallback : the stereo channels are mixed each others at the
TerminatorX input then the resulted mix is outputed in both left and
right channel, I asked the developper if he will correct this one day
but he replyed that it would need a total rewritting of the core.
This would be awesome to have this kind of application working well,
it gives the most amazing scratches of computational music.

Welcome !

Hey guys, thanx for the quick replies.
I've already started looking at the code of tX.
Its a very clean codebase, I was able to fix a bug (saving/restoring the
midi event assigned to the trigger of a turntable) in 10 min.
I will look at the programs.
I would like to know how many of you need the feature of being able to
adjust the tempo of a turntable in an ableton live fashion.

IMHO It would be nice to make it survive, but personnaly I don't need

Well the reason for why I'd like to develope tX is its midi capabilities
and the workflow.
I want to use it as a sampler triggered by an external sequencer, and
not actually as a DJ-proggy. I dont know how good the midi capabilities
of Mixx are.
In general Mixxx and tX are incomparable, since Mixxx only allows for 2
turntables, or am I wrong?

for continued development on TerminatorX. To me it has always been one of
the most "fun" apps on linux to play with, and I think that's vital. The
one
thing that always held it back to me was individual track outputs in Jack -
mixing down to stereo was always a buzz killer to an otherwise fast and
enjoyable workflow.

Thats true, if I have time I'll work on adding individual outputs for
each turntable.
But for me now, the most important feature is support for Rubberband.
Looking at the code, this is probably more feasible than adding
individual outputs, since for the later the audio engine would need a
total overhaul.
