Can anyone tell me how to send jack output out the spdif i/o on a delta
66? I can't make head or tails of it. I want to send 6 different jack
outs out to the 4 analog outs and 2 digitals.

if you look at qjackconnect or do jack_lsp you should see
alsa_pcm:playback1 and so on - it should be one of those - my guess would be
the last two...

And for surround-testing: A train coming from behind going over the the
listener to the front. And than a second from left to right.

I know the perfect train... Amtrak's Acela is the US version of high
speed rail, and rather than build a modern infrastructure they decided
to run it on old tracks with diesel-electric engines that they
retrofitted & upgraded to handle the speed. Man, is that thing LOUD
when it blows by. It feels like the air pressure is going to suck you
off the platform.
Now I just wish I had two nice directional mics, I'd walk down to the
train station and record it now...

speed rail, and rather than build a modern infrastructure they decided
to run it on old tracks with diesel-electric engines that they
retrofitted & upgraded to handle the speed. Man, is that thing LOUD

Actually, I just remembered, it slows down going through the big metro
areas. To get the full effect you have to be in Delaware...

I believe S/PDIF is alsa_pcm:playerback11 and alsa_pcm:playerback12.
You may need to do some config setup with envy24control, also.
