As I want to run Ardour I just moved from oss to alsa/jack. A funny thing I noticed is that just playing MP3s I get a lot more skips using alsa/jack/alsaplayer then I did using oss/xmms. Actually with OSS I had almost no skips. Is this normal or suspect? I thought that alsa was supposed to provide better latency then oss?
