Does anyone know how to record pd output to a wav or
something? I've tried vsound, but couldn't get it to
work. I'm a newbie to pd to speak slowly.

I think it'd be best if you joined the pd mailing list for pd related stuff...

Now, to answer your question, you can record to disk with sfwrite~ object, which I believe
is in the standard PD distro. You just have to connect to it a copy of the signal you
send to dac~. This way you keep everything within PD.

You could also try using pd with jack, then you can use any jack capable
recorder (ardour, jackrec etc.).

The builtin writesf~ object is wonderful for this. The recording runs
in its own thread, so if you have a demanding patch and get an audio
dropout while recording this doesn't mean, that your recording is
wrecked, too.
