PS. i first i thought you were about to take a loan to buy one... i hope
this is not the case. I doubt anyone would want to have a debt because of

I use a KA6. Works like a charm. Fully plug and play with alsa, all in/outs show in Jack,
most controls are hardware and the one which isn't (digital clock source) is
accessible in alsamixer.

I had looked at the 2i2 previously but was far from happy about possible
compatibility issues with Linux. Incidentally, it only claims 0.002% distortion
under ideal conditions. More real-world figures on their own website are very
similar to the KA6.

I owned the 2i2 as well. Good interface if you don't need a ton of
I/O, but also would just act weird sometimes. Especially when starting
JACK or when recovering from an xrun, the level meters around the gain
controls would flash a few times and audio would drop out. No such
issues with the KA6.

Nothing against the KA6, but I have had 0 compatibility issues with the
2i2 and am very happy with the audio quality.
