Thanks for the advice. Actually the card does perform a bit better at 48000. The thing is that at 48000 I get only 6 capture ports at 24-bit - no playback. Suprisinly I got rid of the noise by setting -n 512 -p 4. What I haven't figured out is how to make the EMI capture at 6*24/44100 and playback at 2*16/44100 which would be the maximum performance by this box. In other words how to tell Jack to use certain altset of the playback interface. With the -S switch I get 16-bit input and output but 24-bit capture at least sounds like a nice idea... Any suggestions on how to make that happen? I've tried using pcm slaves from the .asoundrc as Steve Harris suggested earlier but ended up with Segmentation Faults and missing library - notifications only...
