Hello,
now that I learned from you that my SB live does not support direct
digital input I decided to buy a new card. So far I dither between:
- M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496
- Terratec EWX 24/96
Which one would you prefer?

I'd say go with the M-Audio for two reasons. First, they actually have
a passing acquaintance with Linux, and second, they seem to be a larger
more stable company. Technically I doubt if there is any major
difference between the two cards - they both use the same chipset.
