Hello friends,
I just bought a Maudio audiophile USB, as I saw Alsa-project show it as
reconized by alsa... This soundcard is quite nice actually...and not so expensive...
So it's work with Alsa (I test 1.0.6, 1.0.8 and one of the lastest 1.0.9rc2), I
could listen music over xmms...
But when I want to use jackd (via qjackctl) there is no way to make it work, I
test different samplerate and other parameters, the problem is still here...
In the message box it says that jack tried different samplerate, but none of
them work with the cards...
I don't know if someone use this card or have experience with it, but as it
seems reconized by alsa maybe there is something special to do...? I don't know
if there is a solution somewhere, with the .asoundrc or...?

This device uses big-endian samples. Use plughw:X instead of hw:X as
device name.

hi, i've tried to run audiophile-usb with no sucess too. i'm very
interessed in usb-audiocards and midi controlers to work with
notebooks.
does enybody have any sugestions?

Hi,
jack worked but with a lot of xruns, I have to test it more and if you
are interest I will send a report on the list.

Hi there,
my first test was quite good, I run qjackctl with the parameters
plughw:X for the interface but I had problems with xruns... so I fixed
it with a periods/buffer of 4, then no problem anymore with xruns...
then I tested with hydrogen and I had a great sound output, then ardour,
perfect... except that I had no input at all, I tested directly with
jackmix & qarecord, but without any sucess no input!!!! I tried to
change some of the input parameters but still no input... (Also PD crash
jack... don't know why...) I will try to work more on it this week-end,
and I will also try my usb quattro (for the input ;-) )

sounds like your mixer settings are not right. Try
alsamixer -c X
Select the input to record from, ensure it's capture level is
unmuted and adjust the level.
And ensure JACK is running in full duplex mode via qjackctl.
