Hey! I want to package Smack for Ubuntu Dapper,

actually fully extracts? I tried finding you on IRC in #lad, but I
guess you're not on yet.
dana@polly:~/debs-dapper/Smack-0.2.1$ tar zxf smack_0.2.1.orig.tar.gz
gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

Are you sure that there actually are files missing? I get that error all
the time when I unpack tarballs that I've packed myself using 'tar zcf
blah > blah.tar.gz', but everything is still there.

No, actually I am not sure. But I am not going to package something
that doesn't extract cleanly... This is the only tarball I have ever
downloaded with this issue, so I don't understand why it has to be
this way.
