Hi all,
I'm wondering if there's a way to playback audio CD's digitally on
Linux. I want to hear a CD through my Echo Mona audio card (and also
route the audio signal through Jack), but currently the only way I've
found to play back CD's (on xmms) plays them analog directly to the
onboard audio card.
I'm sure this can be done, but can anyone tell me how?

alsaplayer will do it.

xmms has a plugin xmms-cdread, which I use personally. I don't know
about other programs, though. I still lack digital CD play in GNOME CD
Player, as I think there should be such feature by default because lot
of modern computers lacks wire for analog CD extraction to audio card.
