Hello all,
I found no solution for this in the Ardour manual:
- I import a MIDI file, using 'One track per channel'.
- This results in 3 tracks being created, apparently corresponding
to the two manual and one pedal parts of this organ work.
- I want to send the MIDI data from these to Aeolus, each track using a
different MIDI channel.
Problem: all three tracks output on channel 1, and the per track
channel selectors in the Edit window don't have any effect.
What am I doing wrong ?

The MIDI channel of the original file should be retained, and the files
were apparently correctly split to 3 tracks. So they should not all
output to the same channel to begin with.

Do you mean the dropdown in the track-header itself? That is a MIDNAM
channel Display (check the tooltip).
Have you used the Channel Selector Dialog, and set it to "Use a single
fixed channel for all playback"?

Which version of Ardour do you use?
Could you load ACE MIDI Monitor plugin (comes with Ardour) to each of
the tracks to verify the data during playback?

(commonly used for drums), specify which controls are available for
which channel, etc.
Ardour comes with some 400+ MIDNAM files for common hardware synths, and
LV2 plugins can directly provide one.
