What should I fix - I installed libladspavst-0.1.2-3mdk.rpm but Audacity
does not show my VST plugins that exist in /home/esa/VST/
I did
export VST_PATH=/home/esa/VST

Now I've found some information about it, and noticed it uses wine.
Whoa, it seems difficult.
Anyhow, can I use it with Audacity?

From my experience wine was easy to install and use. Easier than jack even.
Anyhow, can I use it with Audacity?

to run vst plugins (not vst instruments
unfortunately) as
LADSPA plugins by use of wine.
Vst instruments work as well, not all of them
though. I had at least Mercury
Vsti working with vstserver and pd. It was working quite well but it took me
ages to make i work.

If someone had put up a webpage with a simple howto and the possibility to
enter success or failure for different plugins like they have on the winehq
site that'd be great! Unfortunately I have no time at present, but if noone
has risen to the occasion when autumn comes and I start my LInux audio
adventure/nightmare I might put such a thing up.

not working here either. Running Mandrake with same rpms.
wine appears to be working ok generally,
i have northpole and freeverb2 dlls in /usr/share/vst,
vst server starts up ok:
"VSTSERVER/main: Vstserver 0.2.5 started. Waiting for requests."
but no sign of any plugins :-(
tried with Audacity and Ardour

I had many vst plugins and instruments working with pd. That was a couple of
months ago.I havent tried with anything else.
you need to export the vst plugins directory i.e :
export VST_PATH=/home/anton/vstplugs/
and if I can remember correctly, you also need the vst.so file in your ladspa
plugs directory.I *think* that enables vst plugs to appear as ladspa plugs.
Also the vstserver has to be executed with same uid as the host.
tried with Audacity and Ardour
btw I dont know if
ardour has support for vst plugs. The latest cvs has an
option "enable-vst" but havent checked
