In theory, nothing
relevant has changed in the driver between these version
(although I don't know which Debian version you're using).
neither dmesg nor lspci shows something about
YAMAHA (on Lucid or debian).
The DTX is not a PCI device.
but USB works because cat /var/log tells me
something when I plug YAMAHA
"something"? What exactly?
Is the snd-usb-audio module loaded?

Dear Clemens,
thank you for the patience and sorry for my incompleteness but sometimes
when I write email I don't have DTX close at hand.
I'm using Debian 6 (the latest stable). The versions I've used have
different linux kernel (2.xx or 3.0.xx). Could be for that reason?
However...
1) on Debian snd-usb-audio wasn't loaded. I 've loaded it but nothing
change (jack can't see my DTX)
2) cat /var/log/messages | grep usb tells me this:
Apr 3 18:31:11 mirko-debian kernel: [31382.107847] usb 2-1.2: new full
speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 10
Apr 3 18:31:12 mirko-debian kernel: [31382.202177] usb 2-1.2: New USB
device found, idVendor=0499, idProduct=1056
Apr 3 18:31:12 mirko-debian kernel: [31382.202188] usb 2-1.2: New USB
device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
