Maybe your source material already is too loud?
The sources are at -0.2dbfs. I've got two songs that
it's happening to.
Generally source
material to be compressed should leave a bit more
headroom to let the
compression algorithm do its work properly.
That kinda bites. Maybe it is what it is. I'll play
with levels but I don't like that idea. It basically
defeats the purpose. Of course, I'm a control freak...

problem with medium quality using oggenc.
