Hey hey,
running Dexed with the commandline LV2 host mod-host I got no output. Seeing
that Dexed did install a VST3, I wonder if the LV2 plugin is sort of a wrapper
for the VST3 that needs to be run somewhere in the background or if there is
anything else GUI that needs to work.
I'd be grateful for any tips.

On my side, I use Dexed from DistRHO ports. There is a LV2 version of this plugin in
DistRHO.

I use distrho port too, that is how I could
load the lv2 plugin into
mod-host. I got no errors, apparently the parameters were all set for
some sound, MIDI and audio ports were connected to the outside world and
still no joy. I know it's a rather particular kind of environment,
running completely commandline.

Hey Jeannette,
you should maybe try dcoredump's version:
https://github.com/dcoredump/dexed.lv2
It has no GUI (and no VST port), so less potential sources of error. In
this version, LV2 parameters are mapped into integer ranges as you would
see on a DX7 (i.e. Algorithm 1..32). This might be easier to use from the
command line too. As far as I know the Distrho port has only float
parameters.

I did install it from source, but couldn't get it to work with lvtk. I
saw a thread about the Raspian version and the github version. At first
I had installed the Archlinux supplied package, then I did try the
github version. The latter does not even contain the required synth.hpp.
Dexed.lv2 did compile with the Arch package, but did not load, due to a
missing symbol. Looking at its symbols and ranges it does look much more
suitable for the commandline experience though.
