Hi, I'm trying to follow the wiki
screencasting guide:
http://apps.linuxaudio.org/wiki/screencasttutorial
however I don't get how Xephyr should work. I just get a big black
window. That's probably because I just removed the
"/etc/X11/Xession" line, but I don't have that file (I'm on
Archlinux). I tried substituting it with "xinit" (how I normally
start X) but that didn't work too.
how is it supposed to work?
cheers,
renato

Hello Renato,
Which DE are you using?
only openbox wm
Even though it doesn't really matter anymore (since you're not going
to use Xephyr) but you could try xinit /usr/bin/openbox-session as
mentioned in the Arch wiki. But you probably have an .xinitrc file
uh yes and quite a populated one ;)
so
you shouldn't get a black screen. Anyhoo, probably works better
without using Xephyr.
Ok, I'll give it a shot at editing the wiki
best wishes,
renato
