i suspect this concern is a bit belated - it probably goes back to the release of JUCE v5 in april 2017 - i dont think anything has changed since then - quite a fuss was made at the time like starting the very next day the GPL is still an option but it was removed from mention on the website and now is essentially a secret - new users need to actually download and read the source code or download and run the binary to learn that the GPL was an option i could point you to this discussion that tried to address the down-playing of the GPL option and the possibility of a community fork to remove the anti- features https://forum.juce.com/t/should-the-community-consider-a-juce-fork/22056

[LAD] Capturing MIDI from Windows program running under Wine?

Hi all, I have a proprietary Windows application (tc electronic TonePrint editor) running under Wine, which talks to a class-compliant* USB MIDI device (Flashback delay pedal). I'd like to monitor, what MIDI data the application is sending to the device. How can I do that, short of capturing and decoding the USB communication with wireshark? * At least I think it is. It shows up with "amidi -l", and I can connect with aseqdump to the port, although the _device_ itself doesn't seem to output any MIDI when I turn the knobs. Cheers, Chris

[LAD] zita-jacktools available now

Hello all, The jacktools packages (to be presented at LAC2018) are available now at <http://kokkinizita.linuxaudio.org/linuxaudio/downloads/index.html> You will need (from the libraries section) - zita-convolver - zita-resampler - zita-jclient - zita-audiotools - zita-jacktools and install those in that order. and of course python, numpy, matplotlib, fftw3,... Sorry, pressed Ctrl+Enter too early: From file output: ..jmatconvol-0.3.1.tar.bz2: gzip compressed data, last modified: Sun Dec 7 20:13:54 2014, from Unix I'm not sure, is it supposed to be known as release - at least i could not find any emails from LAD, mentioning it. But it is on downloads page.

[LAD] Updates of zita-convolver and jconvolver

Hello all, The zita-convolver library has been updated to 4.0.0. This is a major version change, and there are some (small) API changes. See the README for details. Jconvolver has been updated for the new library Nothing much new here, except that you can now set the Jack client name in the config files. [LAD] Github DCMA takedown notice - VeSTige header

Hi LADs, I was contacted earlier today by GitHub with a DCMA request from Steinberg.net to remove the aeffectx.h from VeSTige. [1] I am planning to contest the DCMA request. This will ideally happen with some legal counsel and support from Javier Serrano Polo who is the original (C) holder of the VeSTige header and reverse engineered the API. Since Github requires action within 24 hours, I have meanwhile complied and force-pushed https://github.com/x42/lv2vst/blob/master/include/aeffectx.h out of existence. I have no idea why Steinberg would target this rather low profile project, but there you go. Hello again, The Pre-LAC2018 [8] release frenzy is now complete... Qtractor 0.9.1 (pre-lac2018 beta) is out! Change-log: - Displaying MIDI note(on) events as diamonds instead of simple rectangles (aka. Drum Mode) is now being introduced as an optional MIDI track property (Drums) and as a MIDI clip editor (piano-roll) visual option (cf. View/Drum Mode). - Extended multi-selection is now supported on all the Connections client/port lists, allowing for multiple (dis)connections at once. - Added LV2 UI sample-rate option support. - Always reset all internal dedicated MIDI controllers, eg. MIDI track volume (CC#7) and panning (CC#10), on Transport/Panic and after rendering export to aud1io (ie.
